South Bay Outfitters has over 500 square miles of pristine wilderness  situated in central Saskatchewan's Boreal Forest.  Our area borders the Northeast corner of Prince Albert National Park where absolutely no hunting is allowed. There are literally bears and whitetail's dying of old  age in this 1500 square mile Park who have never encountered a hunter.  They easily travel through our area. This doesn't mean they are easy to catch up to, but the opportunity exists.   Looking at the aerial photo reveals hundreds of square mile areas that are inaccessible providing further refuge.   Our top buck is pictured above and our best bear below.

Our area has consistently produced quality color phase bears.  In 2002,2003 and 2004 we took blonde phase bears large enough to qualify for the Pope & Young record book.

We have a new lodge built in the summer of 2004 sitting on a hill overlooking Montreal Lake. The lodge has 5 bedrooms for the hunters sleeping two hunters per room.  We have all the amenities of home.

Click the link to the left to view an aerial view of our area showing the many logging cuts that provide browse and edge habitat perfect for a healthy population of bear and whitetail.

We also have some great fishing lakes in our area.  Weyakwin Lake is a popular spot for walleye and northern pike.  It is a short drive from our lodge and boat and motor rentals are available at South Bay Cabins, Percy Depper, 306-663-5748.
There are also several stocked trout lakes filled with rainbow and brown trout.
