2002 bear trophy's
How's this for the very first week of running hunts at SBO. A very happy group.
Trampus Gooding from San Marcos Texas started the week with this fine boar on Monday evening. He videoed the shot himself.
It's featured on the SBO video " Spring 2002" as well as all the other hunters on this page. Every
hunt was captured on film so it is quite an exciting tape.
Suzie Plunkett from Kentucky was next with this huge boar taken Tuesday afternoon.
Outfitter, Andy Milam videoed the hunt and promised her that she had won the" big bear" pot for the week. How wrong he was.
Dustin Plunkett followed Wednesday to keep the action going with this trophy black.
Dad, David and his son Derrick both shot huge Pope & Young boars on Thursday evening to cap off
a fantastic week!
Suzy's husband Derrick ended up with the "pot" with this monster.
What a great week. That's 5 for 5. On to the next week!
Dwain Francis from Missouri takes an awesome cinnamon phase boar.
Dwain's hunting buddy Pete Walton takes a trophy black with his muzzleloader on the same evening.
2 for two makes 7 for 7 on the year.
Unfortunately the last week we got hit with a dramatic green-up and lots of rain and the three hunters in camp
from Minnesota left without bears. They did re-book though, and all take bears on future hunts.
They saw bears but not the size they were looking for. So we ended up 8 bears for 11 hunters.
Outfitter Andy Milam shot the 8th bear the following week. He and his guide were taking out barrels and stands.
When they got to the very last one there was a long chocolate hair on the barrel. "Leave it I'll come back and hunt it this evening"
Andy said and the rest is history. Andy got the hunt and shot on film so it too is featured on the "SBO Spring 2002" video.
