2003 bear trophy's

Return hunter Pete Walton from Missouri starts us out the first week of our 2003 hunts with this
great boar taken with primitive blackpowder. This is Pete's 2nd year with SBO and his second bear!
Outfitter Andy Milam videoed the hunt and it is featured on the Spring 2003 SBO video.

Pete's buddy Dwain Francis also from Missouri with his second bear in as many years with SBO.

Ron Terry also from Missouri with his trophy.  Ron's wife videoed his hunt!

That's 100% for the 1st week, now on to  week 2!

Earl Smith from Kentucky starts things out with this fine boar taken with home-made longbow and arrows.
Earls wife Velma also shot a bear but we were unable to recover it.  She almost got a 2nd chance at him
her last evening but the bear spooked at a slight noise.  We did get the bear the next week.  It is the bear that
Darren Kolich harvests.  His son Chris also gets a bruin but we can't locate a photo.  Sorry Chris.

Sarah Bullock ,friend of the Smith group gets her bear toward the end of the hunt making it 4 for 4
opportunity and 3 bears going back to Kentucky with them.
 Better luck next time Velma.

On to week 3!

Darrin Kolich from Maryland starts the week out with this fine boar.  This is the bear that Velma wounded
the previous week and if you look carefully you can see where it was shot on the SBO Spring 2003 video.

Darren Daymude follows with his trophy.
That's 2 for 3 the second week.  Kirby was the videotographer and did not get to hunt until everyone else
was through so he went home without a bear but he only had one night to hunt.  These guys were
filming a show for Rutting and Strutting Outdoors and had a fine hunt and got some great footage.
Their hunts are also featured on the SBO spring 2003 video.

On to week 4!

Return hunter Steve Gentry takes this fine boar on a morning hunt.  He was in the stand by 8 AM and the
action started immediately.  He had his bear by 9AM. Steve's fellow hunter, Steve Dougherty, unfortunately
wounds a monster blonde boar and does not recover it.  Better luck next time Steve.

Guy Pointer booked this hunt with his son Steve.  That made three Steve's in camp at the same time.  Guy took this
awesome, rare Pope & Young blonde phase bear but his son wounded his bear and it was not recovered.

That's 14 hunters, 13 bears shot and 11 harvested!  The one guy who didn't shoot only hunted one evening!
